Around 120 companies presented their projects and technologies to approximately 900 investors and experts from politics and business. The main focus this year was on energy generation through onshore and offshore wind, solar, hydrogen and battery technologies, carbon capture technologies, and innovative circular economy processes.

In addition to company presentations, the latest market developments were outlined by analysts from Pareto Securities, and there were extensive opportunities for participants to exchange ideas.

Materialis, represented by Dirk Mellen, had the opportunity to participate in the conference for the second time in 2024. At this point, a heartfelt thanks to the organizers and the team of Pareto Securities Germany from Frankfurt am Main for this opportunity.

This year, our selection fell on a project by the District Fire Brigade Association Potsdam-Mittelmark e.V. in collaboration with the K & L Verlag from Detmold. The K&L Verlag designs educational materials for fire safety education for children in preschool and elementary school ages, which are used by members of the District Fire Brigade Association to teach children in daycare centers and primary schools about proper behavior in case of fire and prevention in a playful manner.

The feedback from customers and business partners regarding the selected project has been uniformly positive, reinforcing our commitment to continue this approach in the coming years.

The German-Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (DECCHAM) and the German-Cambodian Business (DKW), in collaboration with the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), organized the first German trade mission to Cambodia in 2023. The theme of the event: Opportunities and potentials in Cambodia regarding local waste management and resource recovery.

We were among seven German companies invited to contribute our expertise in waste management. The mission aims to explore business opportunities in the country and learn more about the support that German development cooperation offers to companies committed to sustainability in developing countries like Cambodia.

We visited local waste management facilities and met with sector stakeholders in Cambodia. However, alongside exploring business opportunities, there was also a focus on understanding the environmental challenges Cambodia currently faces and how we can collectively address them with Cambodia.

The organizers of the mission hope that it will lead to new business partnerships and investments in the waste management sector in Cambodia. They also hope that the mission will contribute to strengthening the relationships between Germany, Europe, and Cambodia.
