Dirk is an expert in the circular economy with over 30 years of experience. Before focusing on Materialis in 2018, he held managerial positions in C-level roles for internationally leading companies in the sector. Bringing his extensive experience from leadership roles and more than 75 international circular economy projects, Dirk now contributes to Materialis.

In projects, Dirk takes on project management and project control for technical services and consulting tasks, as well as mandates on advisory boards.

Dirk supports the development of the circular economy in various committees and associations in establishing regulatory frameworks and is the author of various publications, contributing to standardization and normalization efforts.

Tobias is an expert in the circular economy with over 10 years of experience in senior positions for international companies in waste management and plastic recycling. Before joining MRS as a freelancer and co-founding ‘Emerea’ with Dirk in 2023, he served as COO at Parley for the Oceans and led international business development for plastics & paper at the ALBA Group.

His experience and expertise in this sector include the development and implementation of recycling processes and corresponding business models worldwide, particularly in Asia, Europe, and America. Tobias possesses an extensive global network in the fields of circular economy, recycling, and their respective value chains.

At MRS, he independently manages projects in planning, management, and consulting and serves as the point of contact for all waste management and recycling-related matters.

As a graduate engineer in plastics engineering with over 30 years of professional experience in sales of technical and complex B2B products—from raw materials through processing to recycling—I possess a strong track record in structured work with a hands-on mentality and effective time and self-management.

As a sustainability expert, Carolin brings 6 years of experience to the table. Prior to her freelance work, she worked at Schwarz Gruppe in waste management and packaging procurement, where she led projects focused on plastic reduction and waste management optimization.

Carolin manages projects and project controls in the circular economy sector. She has also contributed to the development of norms and standards, including the creation of DIN Spec 91436 for achieving Zero Waste goals in corporate waste management.

Julia started her studies in Sustainable Management at the Technical University of Berlin in the winter semester 2022. Since then, she has been working as a working student at Materialis.

Since 2020, Julia has been handling tasks related to accounting and controlling, as well as providing assistance in projects.

Marie completed her secondary education with the Abitur in 2023 and is preparing for her planned vocational training.

At Materialis, Marie is responsible for marketing and public relations.
